AG1 is tested for those who test themselves

AG1 is tested according to strict quality standards. Our formula is regularly checked for contaminants and impurities to ensure product safety and consistency.

Third-party certifications

AG1 is certified by both the Cologne List® and Informed Choice – two of the most trusted independent testing programmes for supplements.
They regularly test for banned substances to help ensure AG1 meets the highest standards in quality, purity, and sports safety.

Certificate of analysis

Each batch of AG1 is tested for a panel of quality and purity analytes, including microbial contaminants, heavy metals, allergens, and banned substances. As part of routine testing, we also test for chemical compounds like caffeine and oxalates.

The Certificate of Analysis (COA), is a document that contains our testing report and the results based on safe limits and specifications.

Please note: The specifications listed in the CoA are not the values measured in the product, but the maximum limits that must not be exceeded, as defined by regulatory and safety standards.

Heavy metals

Anything that comes from the ground, including fruits, vegetables, and even drinking water, has the potential to naturally contain some heavy metals.

To ensure safety, AG1 is regularly tested for heavy metal levels in accordance with the limits set by the European Commission in EU Regulation 2023/915.

THIS INCLUDES:
  • Lead

  • Mercury

  • Cadmium

  • Arsenic

Allergens

We do not formulate with wheat, dairy, egg, or peanut-containing ingredients. Plus, our manufacturing facilities adhere to strict allergen and validated cleaning protocols, to reduce chances of cross-contamination.

WE TEST FOR COMMON ALLERGENS:
  • Gluten (Wheat, Rye, Barley) (<20ppm)

  • Milk

  • Egg

  • Peanut

Pesticides & herbicides

Chemicals used in agriculture can disrupt the gut and immune system, decreasing or even blocking nutrient absorption.

We select our suppliers based on strict internal standards. In addition, we regularly carry out independent testing for over 500 pesticides and herbicides – to ensure our requirements are met and that the limits defined by the European Commission in EU Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 are observed.

INCLUDING:
  • Glyphosate: an herbicide and commonly used weed killer in conventional farming

  • AMPA: a byproduct of glyphosate

Microbes & toxins

Microbial testing is crucial for ensuring AG1 is safe to drink on a long-term daily basis.

WE RULE OUT:
  • Harmful bacteria, including Salmonella, E. coli, and Staphylococcus.

  • Molds and yeasts that have been linked to immune disruption.

  • Microbes that can produce toxic substances like mycotoxins and aflatoxins.

Banned substances

Professional and Olympic athletes have trusted AG1 for over a decade. To reduce the risk of contamination or adulteration, AG1 is independently tested for 250 banned substances as part of both the Cologne List® and Informed Choice certification programmes.

These programmes focus on substance classes most commonly associated with contamination in supplements, including:

WHAT IS TESTED?
  • Anabolic agents

  • Stimulants

  • Beta-2 agonists

  • Diuretics and masking agents

  • Selective androgen receptor modulators (SARMs)

  • Hormone and metabolic modulators

  • Cannabinoids

  • Narcotics

Residual solvents

Residual solvents are volatile chemicals that can result from processing procedures such as extraction of plant parts and purification of ingredients. While testing for residual solvents was initially developed for pharmaceuticals, as part of our quality, AG1 is tested for all 3 classes of solvents, including acetone and ethanol.

Nutritional testing

AG1 tests for nutritional content to ensure that the amounts stated on the label are what you get in the product. Nutritional testing is vital to ensuring the efficacy of the formula, and that you receive what you are paying for.

Sensory experience

Taste is an obsession of ours. Every batch of AG1 undergoes a systematic evaluation of sensory characteristics like aroma, taste, mouthfeel, and aftertaste. We conduct a science-based sensory testing program with a third-party to ensure the consistency of the AG1 flavour.

The best part? The flavour of AG1 comes entirely from natural ingredients – with no artificial flavours or sweeteners.

AG1 DOES NOT INCLUDE:
  • Artificial sweeteners

  • Added sugar

  • Erythritol

  • Monk fruit

  • MSG

FAQ

Is AG1 tested for heavy metals?

AG1 is tested to ensure levels of heavy metals are below the guidelines set by US Pharmacopeia (USP) and NSF International, two independent, third-party organisations that set rigorous standards for safety, quality, and compliance. USP guidelines are widely used as a regulatory standard for pharmaceuticals, dietary supplements and food ingredients.
