A healthy gut starts with understanding how the microbiome functions. There are trillions of microbes living in your gut, each doing a different job. Some break down fiber to make short‑chain fatty acids (SCFAs), which help maintain gut lining and aid digestion. Another type trains your immune system to recognize invaders.
