Vitamin D3 (as cholcalciferol (D3)) Facts
Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) is the most bioavailable form of vitamin D and the same form your body naturally produces when your skin is exposed to sunlight. Known as the "sunshine vitamin," Vitamin D is a fat-soluble nutrient that functions as both a vitamin and a prohormone, meaning the body converts it into an active form that helps regulate numerous biological processes.
- Supports normal calcium absorption and helps maintain healthy bones and teeth.* -Supports healthy immune system function, helping the body's natural defenses respond appropriately.*
Why it Matters:
Despite sunlight being a primary source, an estimated 40% of U.S. adults have insufficient Vitamin D levels, with higher rates among those who spend most of their time indoors, live in northern latitudes, or have darker skin tones ¹.
Cholecalciferol (D3) is the preferred supplemental form. Research consistently shows D3 raises and maintains circulating 25(OH)D levels more effectively than D2, the plant-derived alternative ².
