Dr. Justin Siegel
PhD — Chemistry, Biochemistry, & Molecular Medicine
Dr. Justin Siegel is a Professor of Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Molecular Medicine at the University of California, Davis, where he also serves as Faculty Director of the Innovation Institute for Food and Health. His research focuses on enzyme discovery and design for applications spanning human health, nutrition, and sustainable technologies. He is a co-inventor on more than 100 global patents, has published over 50 scholarly articles, and has co-founded multiple companies and research consortia. Dr. Siegel earned his PhD from the University of Washington and was elected a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors in 2023.
