Supplement labels make a lot of claims. Most brands ask you to take those claims on faith, or point to a logo and hope it is reassuring for them. AG1 sets a higher standard. Every batch undergoes independent lab testing, gets verified by Light Labs, and earns the prestigious NSF Certified for Sport® certification. We don't just ask for your trust - we publish the full results right on the product page you shop on.
Light Labs is a modern food and supplement third-party testing platform built around a simple idea: certifications are a proxy for quality, and the lab data is the proof. Based in Austin, Texas, with an ISO 17025-accredited laboratory in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Light Labs conducts independent testing on more than 600 analytes, including heavy metals, pesticides and herbicides, microplastics, bisphenols, microbial contaminants, nutrition facts panels, and more, ensuring transparency for consumers. Brands across supplement and snack categories rely on the Light Labs platform to manage testing and results at scale.
AG1 uses Light Labs to make user-friendly Certificates of Analysis (COAs) accessible with one click. You can easily find the Light Labs component on each AG1 product page.
Traditional third-party certifications - like NSF Certified for Sport® - are called "static badges". Maintaining this rigorous certification can be expensive because of the time and standards involved, and can take time to obtain and maintain since it is third-party testing and certification on every batch produced. It is well worth the effort, as it gives consumers assurance that it's been tested for everything it says on the label, which in this case is 280+ banned substances from a list that numerous professional organizations follow.
In addition, AG1 has a dedicated partnership with Alkemist Labs to verify the identity and potency of botanical ingredients batch to batch and partners with Eurofins for identity and dosage of ingredients, like HMB, and viability of probiotics with dPCR testing.
Light Labs helps with understanding the in-depth testing results that go into those types of badges. Light Labs publishes the underlying data itself in the component on the product page. It includes the actual measured amount of a given vitamin in a specific batch, backed by an independently accredited Certificate of Analysis that anyone can click into. Light Labs currently provides this information for our US market, but AG1 has many international third-party testing certifications based on what is recognized globally.
That distinction matters because consumer trust in the supplement industry has taken real hits from mislabeled products and unverified claims. Providing proof of compliance, rather than just asserting a claim was met, helps people buy with more confidence.
The Light Labs testing component, called the Product Insight Panel, sits on each AG1 product page near the "Add to Cart" section. Here's how it's organized:
AG1 commits to rigorous third-party testing and certification so you don't have to take our word for it. These results reflect the sourcing standards behind every batch, and we're proud to publish them.
