AG1 Strengthens Scientific Leadership with New Science and Innovation Advisors
At AG1, science has always been at the heart of what we do. Fifteen years ago, we introduced a simple daily scoop to support gut health and help fill nutrient gaps. Since then, our commitment to evidence-based innovation has only deepened, and today, we’re excited to take the next step in that journey.
We’re proud to announce that we have begun working with our Science and Innovation Advisors—a network of independent experts who will guide AG1’s research, product development, and scientific strategy. This refreshed advisory structure reflects our evolution from a science-informed company to a science-led company.
Why this matters
While we’ve previously had a Scientific Advisory Council in place, the new Advisors are independent researchers and clinicians who bring expertise in nutrition, metabolism, the microbiome, exercise physiology, and human performance. Their guidance helps ensure AG1 continues to innovate responsibly, rigorously, and transparently.
These Advisors are distinct from marketing partners: they provide expert input but do not appear in commercial campaigns, preserving independence and building trust with our community, scientific partners, and consumers alike.
Who’s joining us
Our initial Science and Innovation Advisors include:
- Dr. Keith Baar, PhD – Molecular exercise physiologist focusing on muscle and tendon adaptation, performance, and healthy aging.
- Dr. Taylor Soderborg, MD, PhD – Physician-scientist and microbiome expert specializing in pediatric gut health and early-life nutrition.
- Dr. Marcas Bamman, PhD – Researcher focused on healthspan, resilience, and performance, leading translational studies on stress resilience and individual response variability.
- Dr. Justin Siegel, PhD – Leader in the design and discovery of novel bioactives, integrating computation, multi-omics, and protein science to advance healthier, more functional foods.
- Dr. Grant Tinsley, PhD – Human performance scientist and expert in energy balance, body composition, and metabolic health.
Each Advisor has been selected for their scientific expertise, independence, and alignment with AG1’s research priorities, and they will serve one-year terms with the option to continue or rotate new voices over time.
What they’ll do
Our Science and Innovation Advisors will work closely with AG1’s in-house research and product development teams, providing strategic, high-level guidance that helps shape how we evaluate research, prioritize innovation, and strengthen the credibility of our work. Specifically, the Advisors will:
- Inform R&D priorities by flagging emerging research and scientific developments
- Shape how complex science is communicated clearly and accurately
- Explore nutrition needs of specific populations, such as GLP-1 users
Looking ahead
This announcement represents a key milestone in AG1’s ongoing commitment to research excellence, product integrity, and collaboration with the scientific community. By establishing a transparent, independent network of Advisors, we are further ensuring that every product we develop is grounded in credible science and designed to support the health of our customers worldwide.
We’re grateful to our community, partners, and internal teams who make this work possible, and we’re excited to share this next chapter with you.
