Smoothies are brilliant because:

  • they're quick and easy to make;
  • there's no limit to your creativity — just add whatever you fancy and have to hand in the fridge (or freezer);
  • they're packed with vitamins & minerals.

AG1 is wonderfully versatile and makes a brilliant addition to your smoothie too! In no time at all, you've got an extra helping of vitamins and minerals right there in your glass.

Recipe 1: The Dan Churchill

Ingredients

  • 1 scoop or travel pack of AG1
  • ½ frozen banana
  • 1 handful of spinach
  • ⅔ cup frozen mango
  • ¼ cup water

Method

Blend all the ingredients until smooth. Serve as a smoothie or a smoothie bowl — just use a little less water if you're going for the bowl.

Feel free to top your AG1 smoothie with chia or hemp seeds, fresh fruit, or coconut flakes.

The benefit: bananas are rich in vitamin B6, potassium and magnesium. Spinach contains B vitamins, vitamin C and potassium, calcium, magnesium and iron. Mangoes bring beta-carotene, vitamin A and C, plus potassium, calcium and magnesium.

Recipe 2: The Refreshing One

Ingredients

  • 1 scoop or travel pack of AG1
  • 1 cup coconut water
  • a splash of lemon or lime juice
  • 1 handful of ice cubes

Method

Blend all the ingredients until smooth.

The benefit: coconut water is low in calories and rich in minerals, including potassium, magnesium, calcium and sodium. Just don't confuse it with coconut milk!

Recipe 3: The Tropical One

…for extra holiday vibes in a glass!

Ingredients

  • 1 scoop or travel pack of AG1
  • ½ cup coconut water
  • 1 handful of fresh pineapple
  • a splash of lemon or lime juice
  • 1 handful of ice cubes

Method

Peel and chop the pineapple, then juice your lemon or lime. Blend everything until smooth. For an extra touch of holiday feeling, serve with a cocktail umbrella and a pineapple wedge — or sip it straight from the coconut.

The benefit: pineapple is rich in potassium, calcium, phosphorus and iron, plus provitamin A (a precursor to vitamin A), B vitamins and vitamin C.

Recipe 4: The Spicy One

Ingredients

  • 1 scoop or travel pack of AG1
  • 1 green apple, cored
  • juice of 1 lime
  • a finger-sized piece of ginger
  • 1 cup water

Method

Peel the ginger, core and chop the apple, and juice the lime. Blend all the ingredients together.

The benefit: green apples contain calcium, magnesium, iron, beta-carotene, vitamins E, C, B1, B2 and B6, folate, and chlorophyll (the green pigment that also colours plant leaves). The skin is also a good source of pectin fibre, so it's worth leaving it on. Ginger brings vitamin C, magnesium, calcium, potassium, sodium and phosphorus — plus its natural kick from a compound called gingerol.

Recipe 5: The Gentle One

Ingredients

  • 1 scoop or travel pack of AG1
  • 1 banana
  • ½ cup milk or a plant-based drink of your choice
  • ½ cup water
  • 1½ tbsp rolled oats
  • optional: 2-3 ice cubes

Method

Blend all the ingredients until creamy and serve in a glass.

The benefit: bananas are rich in vitamin B6, potassium and magnesium. Oats bring vitamins B1, B2, B6, E and K, along with iron, calcium, potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, copper, zinc, manganese and selenium.
